The Leonardo Da Vinci Award for Training Excellence

The EACTS awarded the first Leonard Da Vinci Award for training excellence during the EACTS 2011 annual meeting in Lisbon, Portugal to Alfred Kocher, MD.

The residents of EACTS congratulate and salute an excellent teacher!

  1. Recognise and reward excellence in training
  2. Establish a benchmark in the form of a trainer role model
  3. To define the attributes that make a good cardiothoracic surgical teacher
